All-day field trip to Harvard’s Houghton library commenced with a “rockstar-esque” entrance by our professor into the NL train station. Took a trip down memory lane eating lunchables and animal crackers on the train, then spent the afternoon pouring over manuscripts. Highlight: seeing the desk where Emily Dickinson wrote her poetry. Highlight 2: bubble tea and walking my old Harvard Square haunts from Summer ‘08.

Menu for the Voice office this weekend: cheese platter with no crackers til that was remedied by lovely Jaz, one lonely small box of nerds, coffee and tea galore, pizza, and cookies. Gross now when I think back on it. Soundtrack was She-Wolf on repeat, occasionally with the bizarre video playing fullscreen. Alfie bought lunchables for tomorrow. An overall excellent day in the office.

It’s far too nice out, as I spent most of the day writing a paper for Simon Hay’s Caribbean Lit class. Took the evening off and went home for dinner and playtime with the puppies.

Today was so jammed full of events, I felt like I couldn’t go to enough! Missed the Banana Conference, though I heard it was really great. Went to the Health Care debate, which mostly infuriated me. The students debating did a great job, but I’ve heard the debate now too many times to count. INite, the international performance was quite good. Sat directly in front of The College Voice’s reviewer, which was quite ironic!

Heard about plans for reducing number of cars on campus, as well as making the street outside Cro a pedestrian walkway. They sold me. I’ve almost been hit by cars on that road too many times to properly count, and it would definitely make our campus even more beautiful!

Enjoyed an amazing dinner out at Margaritas. I haven’t had Tex-Mex for a seriously long time, and having a $15 meal for $5 was totally worth it! It put me back a bit on homework, but I can’t turn down offers of good food. They’re quite rare.

Thought my day was super productive, then I looked at my “still to do” list. Gah, I don’t even want to think about it. Scheduling showers everyday until Spring Break is becoming slightly problematic — that’s when you know there’s a problem.

Always the hardest and longest day of the week, but this one wasn’t too bad. Grabbed coffee, cheese and crackers during the 15 minute break in the English seminar (most necessary, though my crunching dominated the rest of class). Also, finally met up with Phil to work on revising the Voice website. Worked ’til the wee hours of the morning on that and I love it tons. Still more to do though. This job never ends!

Not shocking. I feel like my Sundays are the least interesting since they always revolve around the office. What should I do to make these more interesting? Next week I’ll get creative and try to include some quotes and/or a menu of our food spread for copyeditors and starving editors who are so committed they (mostly me) find it hard to tear our eyes off inDesign long enough to grab food in Harris.

Enjoyed sleeping in for the first time in… I can’t even remember how long. I really shouldn’t have, but I guess my body really needed it. I switched on snooze at least 3 times before just turning it off (unheard of!). Felt much more refreshed and healthy. But then binged on Nerds and SweetTarts. It’s a lost cause.
