From feathers to chicken: The backwards evolution of a bird

This program, “WordPress” ( the one we use to put these lovely blog posts on the Internet), is really starting to kill me. Not “kill me” in the Holden Caulfield sense of the phrase but in the “this program won’t let me put videos on the page” sense. Hence I have to post ridiculous videos of myself, Natalie Doak and Caroline Abbott pulling apart a rotisserie chicken with our hands (I forgot utensils) on Youtube. ( If you are interested here is the video). This was sometime last weekend, or two weekends ago when lovely Caroline Abbott came to visit. I treated her to a lunch of bread, chicken, Lipton peach iced tea, three apples and two clementines. Natalie may have also jumped in on the fun, prying herself out of bed like a true champion. We had our picnic in the Jardin de Tuileries surrounded by giggling french children, amorous french couples and a fat couple from a southern U.S state asking where ” Place duh Luh CanChord” (phonetic spelling) was located.

The fact that Natalie and I were able to get out of bed  on a Sunday morning and participate in such a picnic was astounding. I will summarize my Saturday night with the picture you see below. Although I’m not exactly sure why I was climbing the bus stop pole I am very sure that it resulted in me taking the bus home. This was shortly after Natalie and I watched a man dressed only in a leopard print tunic get on top of a marble table, rip a pillow open with his teeth and proceed to throw feathers on every person at the party. I found feathers in my shoes the next day. I think I’ll leave all of this out of context.

I’ll leave the details up to every one’s imagination. Go Wild! Returning to the following day ( Sunday), I believe that Caroline and I managed to do just about as many touristy things as possible. If you are into huge Facebook photo albums I suggest checking out  Caroline Abbot’s Facebook wall; the girl posts more Facebook photo’s than Bieber has French fans ( that’s a lot.) We did the “Champs D’Elizay” ,the “Arc de Triumph”, the “I-Fell tower” and may have even eaten a “Craype” or two. I made sure to spell everything in the proper American form for full reader comprehension.

In case anyone is wondering that is me eating a Fuji apple in front of the Eiffel Tower. Apparently Fuji apples are very popular this time of year in France. A vendor the other day told me that Fuji apples are his hottest selling item. I returned my apple and bought an orange. I believe in equal fruit rights…

On another note: Sarkozy is still making people retire at age 62 instead of 60. French citizens are still taking to the streets. Oil refineries are shut down, trains aren’t moving in or out, planes are stuck to the runway…the country is a mess. Students have started setting cars on fire because of the retirement age. That’s looking to the future isn’t it? Forget securing a job so you may eventually be able to retire, it’s more important to riot now for the retirement you may eventually have if you ever secure a job. I appreciate the logic.

The French are still expelling Roms, Germans want every immigrant to learn German, Gert Wilders hates Islam but not Muslims and Paris is freezing. Yes, all is right in Europe.

Stay Fancy,

Rod
