A “Pre-SGA Fishbowl Solidarity Meeting” has been scheduled for 6:30 PM tonight in Cro. The initiative is spearheaded by Ben Schachtel ’13 and hopes to harness student frustrations into a few coherent arguments before the SGA General Assembly meeting at 7:15 PM in Ernst.
Through a Facebook event, Schachtel advertises 3 goals for the meeting. First, avoid chaos at SGA; instead, he argues a united front will be more effective. Second, students must avoid polarization and instead look to collaborate with SGA on an initiative to move forward. Finally, Schachtel hopes the students can share information and educate themselves before making their arguments in the hopes of avoiding misinformation and the spread of rumors. Overall, he hopes that “open-mindedness and level-headedness” will be pervasive tonight, regardless of the outcome.
Schachtel also submitted a Letter to the Editor this afternoon. Read it here.
