Connecticut College’s men’s ice hockey team is off to a strong start, with a 3-1 record in both overall and conference play. Most recently, the Camels took down Middlebury College for the first time since the 2021 season. The first period was slow, with both teams adjusting to the play. Middlebury was on the board first, finding the back of the net at 4:27 in the second period. Jin Lee ‘25 found Revy Mack ‘27, who fired the puck past the Camels’ Kellen Beauton ‘26. Conn found their equalizer two and a half minutes into the third period. Logan Cleary ‘27 assisted Will Lawrence ‘28, as the score evened at one apiece. Determined to end the game in regular time, the Camels took the lead with 3:27 remaining in the final frame. Lawrence found the puck off of Jack Luca’s ‘25 crossbar shot. Lawrence slotted it to Shane Zarcone ‘27, who controlled it and beat Panther goalie Conor Sullivan ‘28 to give the Camels a 2-1 lead. Middlebury was unable to answer in the final three minutes, and Connecticut College came out on top of the conference matchup. The Camels improved to 3-1 on the season and will travel to Bowdoin College on December 6 for their next NESCAC matchup.
