The Connecticut College Women’s Track team went ballistic at the New England Division III Championships. Across the highway at the Coast Guard Academy, the team finished second at the event with a total of 60 points, clocking in their second-best performances in the event’s history. In the 100-meter, Blessing Kieh ’28 took the victory with a time of 11.81. Kieh again competed in the 200-meter, placing fifth with a time of 24.85 and receiving All-New England honors. In the 800-meter, three camels competed with Alexa Estes ’26 taking home the gold and a facility record of 2:10.00, Lilla Kate Tucker ‘27 finishing eighth and receiving All-New England honors with the time of 2:17.21, and April Schilling ‘27 coming in at 12th with a time of 2:18.86. In the 1500-meter, Grace McDonough ‘26 claimed first place with a time of 4:24.12, setting a school and meet record time while outpacing second place by over five seconds. The 5000-meter saw Kiera Tallas ‘27 and Abby Fernald ‘26 receive All-New England honors with their respective second and seventh place finishes. The 10,000 saw two more All-New England honors with Abby Williams ‘27 finishing 4th and Alsacia Timmerman ‘26 finishing 7th. The 4×800 relay saw another school record-shattering performance by the collection of Estes, Schilling, Tucker, and McDonough, who placed second with the time of 9:10.72, also earning All-New England honors. Finally, in the pole vault, Grace Mattaliano’s ‘25 12th-place performance tied the school record, clearing a height of 3.25m. The Women’s track team has come together as a juggernaut in the region and shapes up to build on this performance in Amherst, MA, for during the second week of May for the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association championships and at the Williams F.I.R.E. meet.
