Welcome back to the pop culture column! This week’s topics include: Love Island U.K. All Stars Finale, the new Bachelorette season, and an Audrey Hepburn biopic.

This season of U.K. All Stars has been a whirlwind of drama and love stories. From bombshells to a newly appointed “Villa U.S.A,” filled with American All-Stars, viewers have not been bored this season. The finale revealed the places of the five couples and congratulated the winners with a reward of £50,000. (Spoilers incoming) The final placements of the couples, as decided by the voting public, are Samie Elishi and Ciaran Davies! However, recent internet speculation has led viewers to believe that the pair have already called it quits just three weeks after the finale. As expected, all the finalists are posting non-stop on most platforms of social media, and unlike all the other couples who are posting together, Elishi and Davies have not been part of the fun, with the two only posting separately and without mention of one another.

As for the upcoming season of The Bachelorette, or at this point the lack thereof, the bachelorette Taylor Frankie Paul has made major headlines recently. Frankie Paul is also one of the stars of another reality T.V. show, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. In an unfortunate turn of events, days before the scheduled release date of the Bacherlotette, the show has been canceled due to domestic abuse allegations against Frankie Paul. Viewers of TSLMW know that this extreme toxicity isn’t a new theme for Frankie Paul and her on-again-off-again boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen. However, with new videos surfacing of Frankie Paul physically hitting and throwing chairs at Mortensen, the alleged domestic abuse is clear, and it’s what seems to have pushed the ABC network over the edge to cancel the show. Some think the physicality that Frankie Paul has shown towards Mortensen is due to poor mental health, some argue that they are acts of reactive abuse, and some are horrified at the acts of physical violence toward another person. However, almost everyone can agree that there is a great concern for Frankie Paul’s children. Hopefully, everyone in the situation gets the help they need and is held accountable for their actions.

On a lighter note, the theme for the upcoming Met Gala has been released – “Costume Art,” with the dress code “Fashion is Art.” Personally, I’m very excited about this theme and ready to see what designers can pull off for this year’s theme.

Additionally, another biopic movie is in the works, this time starring Lily Collins and her portrayal of Audrey Hepburn, specifically focused on the behind the scenes creation of the iconic film, Breakfast at Tiffany’s. After years of doppelganger allegations, Collins will finally be playing Hepburn in this highly anticipated movie.
