The Connecticut Sun are rolling through the 2024 WNBA playoffs following a 2-0 series victory over Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever. After an impressive regular season as the third-best team in the league with a 28-12 record, the Sun have set their sights on the championship, causing havoc through the playoffs. In their second matchup, forward Alyssa Thompson led the team in points and assists in their six-point victory over Indiana. The Sun captured the lead in the first quarter and never let go, outscoring their opponents in three out of the four quarters. While the Fever attempted a comeback in the final quarter, the Sun defense remained stout enough to cling to the win. As Connecticut looks on to their matchup with the #2 Minnesota Lynx, there should be plenty of optimism. The first matchup with the Fever saw an absolute thrashing, with the Sun winning by a 24-point margin. The second matchup saw the ball distributed enough for five out of seven players to record double-digit points. The Sun are a team able to lock up on defense when necessary and maintain enough ball movement to feed all their high-flying scoring options. That level of depth does pose a challenge for Minnesota and shapes up to be a thrilling semi-final series.
