For 2025’s Fall Weekend, the Camels hosted the #7 ranked Middlebury Panthers on Freeman Field for a rematch of last season’s NESCAC Championship. Both teams have fallen in position from their preseason poll, but with complete rosters from top to bottom, they guaranteed the over 600 attendees a fantastic match. The first half began with the Panthers controlling the ball around the Camels’ goal with five shots to the Conn three. Goalie TJ Krongard ‘26 logged three saves in the first half, keeping the game scoreless through the first 45 minutes. The second half was a chippy back-and-forth affair with the game script completely flipping. The Camel offense came out of halftime firing on all cylinders, posting 12 shots in just the second half. Forwards Gavin Mpiana ‘27 and Matt Quiros-Newton ‘27 led the pack with three and two shots, respectively. With the constant offensive pressure and the Middlebury goalie forced into more and more difficult save attempts, it was just a matter of time before the Camels broke through. With four minutes and 34 seconds left in regulation, Mpiana sent the ball in the back of the net for the first time of the game, to the roar of the crowd. The Camel pressure remained until the final whistle, where the Camels extended their win streak over the Panthers to two and their record to 3-2-3. By taking down a top-10-ranked opponent, the Camels are poised to capitalize on this victory by building some momentum to close out the slate of four straight NESCAC games.
