- The Goodwin-Niering Center for the Environment’s Lear-Conant Environmental Symposium, Sea Level Rise: Measurement, Understanding, Adaptation, is coming to campus on April 10 & 11, and is free to attend.
- Construction work continues across campus. Interior finishes were completed at Harris Dining Hall over spring break, work on the new amphitheater between Cro and Harris progresses as the weather warms, and work has begun on the grandstands at Silfen Track and Field.
- The College has developed a capital budget for the financial year 2027 that they hope will enable them to address key concerns around campus, such as deferred maintenance, dated technology, and aging lab equipment that require investment.
- Connecticut College celebrated its founding on April 5, the 115th anniversary of the College’s original charter as Thames College in 1911– which was renamed Connecticut College for Women shortly after.
- The College announced this year’s cohort of eighteen Langer Scholars, an honor and tradition dating back to 1928, which recognizes academic excellence and early induction to Phi Beta Kappa.
- Paloma Doyle ‘26 was awarded the prestigious Thomas J. Watson Fellowship to study urban forestry abroad, across Mexico, South Africa, France, Australia and Japan.
- The Connecticut College Debate Union competed at Colgate University on Saturday, March 28, and Sunday, March 29. Three teams competed. For two of the debaters, this was their first time competing in a collegiate debate tournament. This semester marks the Debate Union’s third active semester.
- Conn Giving Day is on April 7 and 8. An on-campus celebration will be held on Tuesday, April 7.
- Southeastern Connecticut’s Annual Walk to End Homelessness will take place on April 26. The College has been co-organizing the annual walk with the New London Homeless Hospitality Center since 2008.
- CISLA sophomores traveled to New York City and visited the UN Headquarters and the Council on Foreign Relations on Tuesday, March 31.
- Oliver Pinyochon ’23 is walking across the United States to raise money for the non-profit, Sound Of A Smile. Pinyochon played soccer and double majored in Sociology and Environmental Studies at Conn.
