Women’s Track and Field Competed at the New England Division III Championships this past weekend and took the victory over the remaining 34 teams Competing. They scored 100 points across the two day meet to secure the victory. Some of the highlights of day one included Grace McDonough 26’ taking the win in the 5000m while Kiera Tallas 27’ took 2nd and Abby Fernald 26’ took 4th. Shortly after that Mary Lonergan 27’ took 2nd place in the 10000m. Meanwhile Blessing Kieh 28’ placed 4th in the long jump and took the school record. On day two it was more of the same as Grace McDonough did the double with a win in the 1500m. Blessing Kieh took 1st in the 100m dash and 2nd in the 200m dash. Alexa Estes 26’ arrived on the scene with a win in the 800m and her teammate April Schilling followed behind finishing 7th. In the sprints Alina Newman 27’ placed 2nd in the 400m hurdles. To end the day it was the relays as the 4x800m of Schilling, Tallas, Fernald, and Estes took the win, and the 4x400m of Newman, Alexis Melvin 28’, Naomi Brightman 27’, and Kailin Fuller 27’ finished 3rd. This rounded out the Camels’ first New England Division III Championship title since 1989.
