The Camels picked up their third win of the season at home against the Wheaton College Lyons in dominating fashion, which saw Conn outscore their opponents in all but one quarter. Led by captain Jesse Ellis ‘27 with four of the team’s goals and an assist, the Camels dominated on offense, taking 13 more shots and totaling 10 more assists. On defense, Artem Kyselov ’28 and Thomas McDonough ‘28 each picked up three steals, helping Conn out-assist the Lyons 18-10. For a team that had just come off of a difficult loss to Iona University a few hours prior, they were able to rally and split their home-opening games. With the win, their undefeated streak against Wheaton extends to nine, as the Lyons are held off once again from picking up their first-ever win against the Camels. This was a much needed victory for the team as they travel to Providence this coming Saturday to face a doubleheader against 8-2 Brown University (11:30 a.m.) and 7-3 Johns Hopkins University (5:45). The hope is for the Camels to pick up a win or two before their return to New London for a match against the University of California, Merced on Oct. 16 at 7 p.m.
